Farewell, Club Necropolis

Last night, I played the last show at Club Necropolis (final set list here). When the last song was over, we closed the doors on the club forever.

Club Necropolis in Dark Eternity opened on August 18th, 2007. DJ Synn Mounier played the opening night, and Chase Humphreys hosted it. The club closed December 5th, 2008. I played the last party, and Rowan Villiers hosted it.

In the nearly sixteen months it was open, Club Necropolis had many great parties and VIPs, and it created many great memories and friends. Many of the guests at the final party shared stories about those memories and friends, while we shook pixel booty to many of the songs that had become loved there - including the club's theme song "Spooky", its former theme song "Nekropolis", and back-to-back plays of "Thriller" - a somewhat tradition at the club in which many club patrons would sync up to do the 'thrilling' dance from Sine Wave.

For those who don't know, I was one of the owners of Club Necropolis - and to stave off the over-active rumor mill, I will say it here: ultimately, Club Necropolis closed because not enough people came, not enough people tipped, and eventually staff began to shirk their shifts. Many at the party said they would miss the place immensely, so perhaps there is something of a moral to this story: if you love someplace, go there and support it as often as you can, or it may not be there tomorrow. :/

I personally have many great memories from the club:

Farewell, Necropolis!

Many said they'd taken tons of pictures during their time at Club Necropolis, so I've established a Flickr Group for Club Necropolis. I've posted some of my photos there - and the group is open for any to join. If you have some great pics, I hope you'll post them to the group.

Farewell, Club Necropolis. You will be missed.
